Clinical Trials Conference
Welcome to Edinburgh
On behalf of the MRC Network of Hubs for Trials Methodology Research, I am delighted to invite you to our second conference, to be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on 18 and 19 November 2013. Following on from our successful Bristol conference held in 2011, which attracted over 450 delegates, we are preparing to welcome up to 800 delegates to Edinburgh.
The conference will provide a perfect forum for the exchange of new ideas amongst all individuals with an interest in clinical trials. We interpret clinical trials ‘methodology’ in a very broad sense, to include, for example, the identification of interventions to be taken forward into a clinical trial, and the design, conduct, oversight, analysis, interpretation and reporting of the trial.
The conference programme is being developed by a scientific committee co-chaired by Professor Marion Campbell and Professor Peter Sandercock. The conference themes will include trial recruitment and retention, trial conduct, adaptive trial designs, stratified medicine, trial outcomes, and evidence synthesis.
The conference will be held in the beautiful historic city of Edinburgh, and as well as the scientific programme we shall ensure that you experience some Scottish hospitality and culture through the conference dinner and ceilidh.
I look forward to meeting you all here in Edinburgh.
Gordon D. Murray,
On behalf of the CTMC2013 Local Organising Committee.
